Constructed of Douglas fir using a mortise and tenon fastening system with oak dowels, and a curved rafter system. Designed for a high snowfall area on Cougar Mountain in the Kootenay boundary area.

This structure was designed to protect the barrel sauna from the high snow loads of the alpine area. Hand crafted from Douglas fir, we used traditional mortise and tenon joinery methods with dry oak timber pegs to secure the joinery. Its arched roof gives it a tranquil aura reminiscent of Japanese architecture.
