I strongly urge you to talk with Katlin Jones at Carlyle Timber Frames. We hired Katlin to construct a complex open timber enclosed deck as an addition to our house. This project consisted of building based on engineered specs from footings and plates for a solid foundation, large glulam beams with intricate joinery to attaching the large heavy deck to the house. And it looks great!
